School Visits
I love interacting with readers of all ages! If you are interested in having me visit your school, library, or other event, please contact me at anneblankman@anneblankman.com.
Programs:
“On Writing.” I discuss my journey to publication, the everyday life of a professional writer, my writing and research processes, and fun behind-the-scenes secrets behind my books. Includes Q&A at the end. Readings from selected books optional. 30-60 minutes. Recommended for preteens, teens, and adults.
“History and Story.” Want to know more about the real-life events and historical events in my books? Then this is the program for you! I delve into the historical inspirations behind my stories, focusing on how I take “real” people, places, and events and weave them into fictional mysteries, adventures, or coming-of-age tales. Readings optional. 45-60 minutes. Recommended for preteens, teens, and adults.
“Choose Your Own Adventure Writing Workshop.” I open by talking about the inspiration behind one of my books. Then, as a group, we discuss an abbreviated version of three act story structure and create a story’s framework, and finish by individually finishing a writing prompt. 60-90 minutes. Recommended for preteens and teens.
Other Programs. I also enjoy meeting with book clubs and participating in book festivals, conferences, and fairs. If you do not see a program listed above that fits your needs, I am happy to tailor a presentation for your audience.
Online Visits. If your budget doesn’t accommodate author visits in person, I am delighted to video conference with you for free.
Local Events. For Henrico and Richmond, VA events, I waive my speaking fee.
I look forward to meeting you!
